Want to try your hand at incubating? We sell hatching eggs! How are hatching eggs different than eating eggs you ask?
Well…
1. Hatching eggs we sell are 24 hours (or less) old. Eating eggs can be older.
2. They have not been washed so bloom is intact. Most of our eating eggs have been washed.
3. They’ve never been exposed to cold or hot temps- we go out multiple times per day and grab them fresh from the hen to avoid temperature fluctuations. Eating eggs we only collect once per day.
4. They are inspected for any imperfections like wrinkled shells, bulges where there shouldn’t be, scratches in the bloom, color not exactly where we want it, debris from the nesting boxes stuck on the shell, etc. Only the best are selected for hatching eggs to ensure you get a good hatch rate. Eating eggs all eat the same so we don’t care if they are ugly lol.
We have the option for rainbow hatching eggs, blue/green hatching eggs, or brown hatching eggs.
Potential breed varieties in these eggs are Copper Marans, Lavender Orpington, Light Brahma, Australorp, Cinnamon Queen, Americauna, Araucana, Polish, Cochin, Silkie, Plymoth Rock, Easter Egger, Olive Egger, Brown Leghorn, Creme Legbar, and Barnevelder. These are sold as a mixed breed pack of eggs meaning we can’t separate into just one single breed or another. They come in a variety pack.
*We can not guarantee a 100% hatch rate as we can not control what happens to them after they leave our farm. Getting too hot/cold in the car, bouncing around during transport, incubator temperature fluctuations, humidity fluctuations, improper incubator settings, opening the incubator too early to remove shells, etc all play a roll in your hatch rate.
